Info on FSKA Tournament 2010
For those of you who had questions in relation to the FSKA World Tournament in Poland in September, I came across good information on one of the FSKA websites in the UK. This is the most information I have found so far. Please feel free to visit the link below for information.
Official Opening of Killarney Martial Arts Academy
The official opening of Killarney Martial Arts Academy will take place on Feb 20th at 12.00pm. Sensei Charles will be running some classes at the KMAA Dojo rwhich un by Sensei Niall of FSKD. Please feel free to go and visit.
International Competition Ardee – April 2010
There is an international competition taking place on 24th April 2010 in Ardee Co. Louth. Sensei Charles would like to send a team up there to compete. You can find more information on http://www.karateireland.eu/2010/index.htm.
The competition will include teams from Scotland, Wales, England and other countries and it would be good practice to take part. Check out the karate ireland website for details or discuss with Sensei Charles. There will be both Kata and Kumite Competitions.
We would encourage all members to take part in competitions when possible.
Next Grading in February 2010
Hi,
The next grading will take place on 26th February and not on 19th as initially planned. This will give everybody time to revise katas and Kihons.
Please remember that there is no guarantee that you will grade successfully and I would encourage you to discuss with Sensei Charles to check if you (or your children) are ready for grading before presenting for grading. Knowledge of the appropriate Kata is a requirement.
to grade for the folllowing belts, here is the Kata required:
Orange – Heian Shodan
Blue – Heian Nidan
1st Green – Heian Sandan
2nd Green – Heian Yondan
1st Purple – Heian Godan
Second Purple – Tekki Shodan.
January 10th Workshop cancelled
Due to the bad weather and the fact that many would not be able to travel, we have decided to cancel the seminar initially planned for the 10th January in Killorglin Sports Complex. We will try to reschedule in a few weeks once the snow and frost has stopped. Apologies …
Happy New Year
We wish all Kerry Shotokan Karate School Members a happy new year.
Classes have started again as per last year at Killorglin Sport Centre on Friday evenings (6:00 to 7:30) and Wednesday Evening (5:30 to 7:00).
Please note that the annual membership of €25 is due in January. This will include your insurance and cost such as affiliations. We have printed new Budo Passes and members who already have an old budo pass are asked to bring it back so that the information it contains can be copied to the new one.
Training Event this Sunday 10th January
Hi, Please note that Kerry Shotokan is organising a training event on Sunday 10th January at 11:00 am at Killorglin Sports Centre.
